ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe is Germany’s biggest steel producer, with a crude steel capacity of around 14 million metric tons a year. The company is focused on the manufacture and distribution of premium carbon steel flat products. Including subsidiaries engaged in service, coating and processing, we achieved sales of 10 billion euros in fiscal year 2008/09. A total of 36,000 employees work for us worldwide.
- Restructuring of construction activities in the steel sector

At the end of 2007 ThyssenKrupp restructured its construction activities in the steel sector. Since then, the Color/Construction Unit and the construction elements group, consisting of ThyssenKrupp Bausysteme, Hoesch Bausysteme and Isocab, have been under single management. The production of construction elements is now aligned seamlessly within the value chain. The new organizational structure provides valuable synergies that benefit you: guaranteed availability of starting materials, high quality standards and maximum flexibility.
In a further logical step effective September 30, 2009 the Kreuztal plant of ThyssenKrupp Bausysteme GmbH was transferred to ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG and the sales, development and production functions for Hoesch construction elements were attached directly to the plant. The plant in Oldenburg, which produces ems-isolier® brand cold room panels, remains part of ThyssenKrupp Bausysteme GmbH.
